  1. Why upgrade to VIP?

If you upgrade you can access two great features that will make your experience on the app even better!

Firstly, you will be able to search by other people’s dating intent to see what they are up for? The three search options are Serious, Causal or Keeping Your Options open. This feature means you can narrow your search results down to only people looking for a serious relationship, for example.

Benefits: Find the people you are looking for and stop wasting your time on people who’s intent is not the same as yours.

Secondly, you can see everyone who’s liked you. When someone taps Like on your profile they will go into your match queue on the left hand side and it will display the number of people who have already liked you. When you upgrade you also get access to this feature and you will be able to see the profiles of everyone who likes you.

Benefits: Get a guaranteed match and start a conversation with anyone who likes you. Save time scrolling through all the potential matches and see the ones you know already like you. Get more dates!

  1. What is Queue Jump?

To get into another person’s match queue you both have to Like each other! However, if you want to grab the attention of someone you really like you can use Queue Jump to go straight into their match queue without matching! Your profile is displayed with a star so they know you’ve made a special effort to grab their attention! If they like you too they’ll send you a message.

Benefits: Get more matches, start more conversations and go on more dates.

  1. How do I find more people?

To find more people you can change your Search Settings.

If you run out of people you’ll be prompted to go to Settings.

If you want to get to Settings when you’re in the app, tap the Profile icon in the bottom right of the navigation bar then hit the Settings icon in the top left of the Profile page.

Once you’re in the Settings page you can:

  • Increase or narrow the ideal distance of someone from you
  • Change the gender of who you’re looking for or search for everyone
  • Change the Age Range
  • Upgrade to Search by Intent
  • Set the ideal height of your perfect match
  1. How do I change my profile?

Tap the Profile icon in the bottom right of the navigation bar.

Once you’re in your Profile page you can:

  • Change your pictures by uploading from Facebook or Camera Roll
  • Show or Hide your Age, Home Town or Current Town by toggling the buttons.
  • You can add Age, Home town or Current Town by updating this information from Facebook. First you must go into your Facebook app and add the information. Come back to the dating app and use the ‘UPDATE FROM FACEBOOK’ button to update your dating profile.
  • Adjust your Height
  • Change your dating Intent to show other people what you are up for?
  • Preview your profile to see how you will be shown to other Users. Swipe up to see your Profile text and swipe left or right to see your pictures.
  1. What happens if I hide my Profile?

If you hide your Profile you will no longer be displayed in other people’s search results.

You will still be able to talk to the people who you’ve already matched with, who have Queue Jumped and who have already liked you*

*you must upgrade to see who has already like you.

  1. What is a Shared Network?

When you join one of our dating apps your profile will also be displayed within other branded apps. You will also be able to see other people who have joined a different app. The features and functions remain the same so your experience is seamless. It just means that you will see more people and more people will see you, therefore, increasing your chances of getting matches and going on dates.

  1. Reporting and Blocking Users

If you object to content that others have shared on the app and feel that it is inappropriate you can report it. The screenshots below show that you can use the Report ‘Flag’ when viewing a profile (Image 1) if you feel the images are inappropriate. If you have started a conversation and want to report abusive or inappropriate messages you can swipe left to reveal the Report ‘Flag’ (Image 2).

You can report the user for Inappropriate Images, Spam or Abusive content (Image 3).

We will review and respond to the report within 24 hours. If we deem that the reported profile has broken the terms of their agreement with us and in particular 3 YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER THIS AGREEMENT the reported user account will be banned.

To Block a profile with whom you have already started a conversation with you can use the Unmatch function. Using this removes the messages that have been exchanged and prevents the profile from seeing your profile again. (Image 2)

  1. How to Date Safely

Using the App:

Getting to know someone using an app can be a safer experience than traditional dating. It gives you a wider scope of choice and you can remain at a distance until you are ready to meet.

If you’ve never tried it before or if you are worried by any stories you may have heard, here are a few tips to get you dating online safely:

  • Trust your instincts. If something doesn’t feel right, why take a chance. Just say ‘No thanks’ gracefully, if this does not work, just Block the user and move on.
  • Keep it real. Be as honest as you can when creating your profile, you would not want to be misled so don’t mislead anyone. It’s also very hard to pretend you are 6’2″ when you are really 5’6″!
  • Post a photo, but make sure you cannot identify your family, friends, home or car in it.
  • Keep in control. Don’t give up any personal information too soon or post personal information publicly on your profile. If you give away a mobile number or Facebook ID or Instagram handle then Users may be able to identify you on other platforms where you have other personal information.
  • Protect your identity. Use an app that hides your email address and your contact information. Our apps do not give any personal information to other Users. Your Facebook ID and mobile number stay safe.
  • Avoid any talk of finances. There is no reason why you should ever disclose any financial information to other Users.
  • If someone asks you for money even if you have built up a trusting relationship with them, they are almost certainly a scammer.
  • Be wary of anyone who declares their undying love for you, especially if you have never met them.
  • Don’t be pressured into giving any information or pictures that you don’t want to and especially into meeting before you are ready.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for more details of the person you are talking to.
  • Think about what you write in your profile and when chatting. Does it convey the right tone and intention?

Going on Dates:

Dating through the app is a safe experience but with the rush of excitement it’s sometimes easy to forget to keep it that way.

You think you have met the online date of your dreams or maybe you’re just curious but you’ve agreed to meet. You may be a seasoned dater or maybe returning to dating after a relationship has ended but here are some quick words of advice for meeting up:

  • Don’t get pushed into a date and certainly don’t give over your personal contact details unless you are comfortable to do so. Never give out your home or office address unless you are totally confident that you know and can trust your date.
  • Avoid anyone who talks about sex or finances before you have even met them. Be wary of anyone who declares undying love for you too readily.
  • When you meet for those first few dates, choose a neutral public location that is easily accessible to you both and is within view and hearing distance of other people.
  • Tell someone that you trust who you are meeting, where you are going and what time you plan to be there. If your plans change don’t forget to provide an update.
  • Arrange with someone to ‘check in’ at regular intervals and have a coded way of telling them how it’s going, especially if you need help.
  • Trust your instincts, if you think something is wrong, you should politely make an excuse and leave.
  • Never rely on your date for transport to or from your meeting place, especially plan your journey home in case you need to leave unexpectedly. Have a taxi number handy if you need one.
  • If you do have to go home together in a taxi, try to be dropped off last but at least avoid showing your date exactly where you live.
  • Be careful with alcohol so that you keep your wits about you. If you think your food or drink has been tampered with then don’t consume it.
  • Make sure you have a fully charged phone that’s able to make contact with others.
  • Respect that your date may have the same concerns and don’t push them into doing anything they are not comfortable with.
